POSSIBILITIES IN PRACTICE
The opportunity
A visual inspection model can struggle when lighting, camera position, or product appearance changes. Operators need enough context to distinguish a useful alert from an unfamiliar but acceptable variation.
The proposed approach
The proposed workbench pairs image classification with highlighted areas of interest, capture metadata, and a review queue. Inspectors can confirm labels, flag ambiguous samples, and provide feedback for future evaluation.
Designed to enable
The intended capability supports consistent inspection decisions and a better feedback loop between operators and model developers. Validation would test representative capture conditions and the operational impact of missed defects and false alerts.
- Image review with visual context
- Operator feedback and label review
- Evaluation across capture conditions
This is a concept study. The capabilities described are intended design goals, subject to prototyping, evaluation, and project-specific requirements.
